Gold Prices Rise Amid Modest Bullion Market Uptrend
The domestic bullion market experienced a modest upward trend on Sunday, despite being closed for a weekly holiday. This uptick in prices led to gold becoming costlier by Rs 160 to Rs 170 per 10 grams across most bullion markets in the country. Silver also registered a marginal gain of Rs 100 per kilogram.
Following this latest price movement, 24-carat gold traded at levels ranging from Rs 1,54,580 to Rs 1,54,730 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of Rs 1,41,700 to Rs 1,41,850 per 10 grams.
However, on a weekly basis, both gold and silver declined amid continued weakness in international markets. During the previous week's trading, 24-carat gold fell by as much as Rs 220 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold declined by up to Rs 200 per 10 grams. Silver also became cheaper during the week due to weak global cues, with its price falling by as much as Rs 5,000 per kilogram.
