Gold Prices Rise Amid Safe-Haven Demand

Gold prices rose on July 27, 2026, by nearly 1 percent as safe-haven demand increased. According to goodreturns.in, the current gold price in India is Rs 14,586 per gram for 24 karat gold (99.9% purity), Rs 13,370 per gram for 22 karat gold (91.6% purity), and Rs 10,939 per gram for 18 karat gold (75% purity). Global gold prices also gained over 0.5 percent.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw gold open at Rs 1.43 lakh per 10 grams. City-wise rates vary slightly: Chennai has a price of Rs 14,586 for 24K, Mumbai and Delhi have the same price of Rs 14,604 for 24K.
