Gold prices rose modestly on Monday, benefiting from a decrease in oil-driven inflationary concerns after the U.S. and Iran paused their tit-for-tat strikes.

The pause came after President Donald Trump halted plans to escalate military operations against Iran.

Spot gold rose 0.6% to settle at $4,076.80/oz, while gold futures inched up 0.2% to settle at $4,079.00/oz.

The Federal Reserve is expected to hold interest rates steady this week, with a probability of about 62% for that outcome, according to the CME FedWatch tool.
