Gold Prices Rise in Bangladesh Amid BAJUS Announcement
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices in the local bullion market on Friday, July 31, 2026.
The new prices will take effect starting from that day. According to the announcement, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by 2,216 taka per bhori (11.664 grams) from the previous price of 2,20,858 taka to the new price of 2,23,074 taka.
The prices for 21-carat and 18-carat gold have also increased, with a 2,100 taka increase for 21-carat gold per bhori from 2,10,943 taka to 2,13,043 taka, and a 1,750 taka increase for 18-carat gold per bhori from 1,81,200 taka to 1,82,950 taka.
The traditional (Sonaton) gold price has been increased by 1,458 taka per bhori from 1,48,016 taka to 1,49,474 taka. Buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry due to a 5% VAT and a minimum making charge of BDT 3,500 per 'bhori'.
