Gold Prices Skyrocket in Pakistan as Global Rally Continues
The price of gold in Pakistan surged by a staggering Rs 13,700 per tola on August 20, 2026, pushing domestic metal valuations into higher territory. According to official notifications released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), domestic rates climbed rapidly in direct response to an aggressive overnight rally across global commodity exchanges.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola soared from Rs 458,236 to Rs 471,936, while the benchmark rate for 24-karat gold per 10 grams surged by Rs 11,746 to settle at Rs 404,609. The substantial price revision has created immediate waves across major bullion centers in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar.
Silver prices also posted notable gains in the local sarafa markets today, with the price of 24-karat silver increasing by Rs 369 per tola. The primary force driving today's local market escalation originates from overseas bullion trading, with global spot gold prices jumping by $137 per ounce to trade at $4,495 per ounce.
