Gold Prices Slide 1.19%, Silver Dives 3.31% on Tuesday

International gold and silver prices closed lower on Tuesday.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery dropped by 1.19 percent to settle at $4,420.60 per ounce. Meanwhile, silver futures for September delivery shed 3.31 percent to close at $64.037 per ounce.

The decline in precious metal prices comes as European stocks closed mixed across the board on Tuesday. The UK's FTSE 100 index rose by 0.07 percent to finish at 10,728.04 points, while France's CAC 40 index and Germany's DAX index fell by 0.82 percent and 0.80 percent respectively.
