Gold Prices Slide Again in India, Silver Declines by Over Rs 9,000

Gold prices continued to fall on September 2 in India, extending their decline for the second consecutive day. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 24-carat gold dropped Rs 1,855 to Rs 1,51,328 per 10 grams, while silver declined Rs 2,059 to Rs 2.28 lakh per kg.

The latest fall follows a sharper decline on September 1, when gold prices dropped Rs 2,652 and silver fell Rs 6,780. In just two days, gold has become cheaper by around Rs 4,500, while silver has declined by approximately Rs 9,000.

Gold rates vary slightly across major cities, with Delhi and Kolkata having the same price of Rs 1,52,020 per 10 grams. The price of gold in India has been fluctuating sharply this year, reaching a peak of Rs 1.76 lakh on January 29 but currently trading around Rs 24,000 below that level.

The decline in silver prices is even steeper, with the metal currently priced at around Rs 1.58 lakh per kg, down from its all-time high of Rs 3.86 lakh on January 29.
