Gold Prices Slide Amid Anticipation of US Employment Data
Gold prices saw a decline on Tuesday, ahead of key US employment data releases. Spot gold dropped by 0.3 percent to $4,437.10 per ounce by 2:35 GMT, marking its lowest level since August 19th.
The fall in gold prices followed comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh, who emphasized the need for inflation to continue trending downward toward the central bank's 2 percent target.
Market analyst Tony Sycamore noted that gold came under significant selling pressure due to Warsh's hawkish tone. Renewed geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz region led to a sharp rise in oil prices, reinforcing expectations of increased global inflationary pressures and impacting commodity markets.
