Gold Prices Slide as Stronger Dollar and Higher Yields Weigh In
Gold prices took a hit this week, falling by 1.16% due to a stronger US dollar and higher US Treasury yields.
The firmer dollar capped safe-haven demand for gold, while investors await fresh macroeconomic catalysts and clarity on the Federal Reserve's policy path.
On Friday, MCX gold August futures edged up 0.06%, but silver September futures dipped 1.13%.
According to India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) data, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold was at Rs 1,42,860 on Friday, down from Rs 1,44,532 seen on Monday's market opening.
