Gold Prices Slide in Kolkata as Market Reacts to Global Cues
Gold prices in Kolkata saw a slight decline on August 4, ending two days of stability over the weekend. The decrease was modest, but it erased part of the gains recorded at the end of last week as the domestic bullion market responded to fresh global cues.
The latest rates show that 24K gold is priced at ₹14,400 per gram, down from ₹14,422 on August 3. Similarly, 22K gold stands at ₹13,200 per gram, down from ₹13,220 the previous day.
According to experts, gold prices in India are influenced by a mix of international and domestic factors, including global spot prices, the rupee's movement against the US dollar, import duties, central bank decisions, inflation expectations, and local jewellery demand.
