Gold Prices Soar in Nepal, Reaching Record High
The price of fine gold in Nepal has surged by Rs 4,800 per tola over the weekend, reaching a new high of Rs 301,700 per tola. This increase comes on the back of a gain of Rs 17,700 per tola in the last seven days, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.
The price of gold was trading at Rs 296,900 per tola on Friday, but jumped significantly over the weekend. Meanwhile, silver also became dearer by Rs 65 per tola, reaching a price of Rs 4,645 per tola.
International market trends are also affecting the prices in Nepal, with gold trading at $4,030 per ounce and silver at $57.41 per ounce globally. The US dollar exchange rate remains stable at Rs 152.74, which further contributes to the increase in gold prices in Nepal.
