The prices of gold and silver remained high in India on August 23, 2026, following a strong rally in recent weeks. With Indian bullion exchanges closed on Sunday, the rates reflected Friday's closing levels.

In major cities across India, the price of 24-carat gold was around Rs 1,63,090 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was approximately Rs 1,49,500. Delhi recorded a slightly higher rate of Rs 1,63,240 for 24-carat gold and Rs 1,49,650 for 22-carat gold.

Silver prices also remained strong, with the latest available rate putting it around Rs 2,60,000 per kilogram in India. The precious-metals rally has been supported by global market factors, including a weaker US dollar and increased investor interest in safe-haven assets.
