Gold Prices Spike Amid Geopolitical Tensions
Gold prices surged more than 1% on Monday as investors sought safe-haven assets amidst heightened geopolitical tensions. The precious metal's value rose to $4,103.99 per ounce in spot markets.
The increase in gold prices was accompanied by gains in other precious metals, with silver rising 2.7% to $59.74 per ounce, platinum increasing 2.0% to $1,619.75, and palladium climbing 2.3% to $1,271.93 per ounce.
The boost in gold prices comes as investors become increasingly wary of global events, including heightened tensions between nations and concerns over prolonged high interest rates.
