Gold Prices Spike in Nepal Amid International Market Volatility
The price of gold and silver has surged in the local market in Nepal. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers, the price of stamped gold has been fixed at Rs 313,400 per tola, an increase of Rs 9,300 from yesterday's rate of Rs 304,100 per tola.
The price of pure silver has also risen by Rs 260 to Rs 4,855 per tola, up from yesterday's rate of Rs 4,595 per tola. The Federation attributes these changes to the international market where one ounce of gold is trading at $4,512 and silver at $67 US dollars.
These price hikes may be a concern for investors and consumers in Nepal who rely on gold and silver as store-of-value assets or for other purposes.
