Gold Prices Stabilize Ahead of US Inflation Data Releases
Gold prices have stabilized in early Asian trading on Thursday, as investors wait for key U.S. inflation data releases to gauge the Federal Reserve's interest rate stance.
The spot gold price held steady at around $4,396.69 per ounce by 00:15 GMT, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery fell 0.4 percent to $4,440.80, according to Reuters.
The market is anticipating the release of U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) data at 12:30 GMT and consumer price inflation data on Friday, which will influence the Fed's decision on interest rates.
A Reuters poll predicts that the Fed will keep interest rates unchanged in its upcoming meeting scheduled for September 15-16.
