Gold prices steadied on Wednesday at $4,652.39 an ounce, maintaining its position from Tuesday's high. The precious metal had reached its highest level since mid-May after US Treasury announced a bond buyback programme last week.

The recent gains in gold followed a sharp rise last week, which boosted investor interest in the metal. Other precious metals also advanced, with spot silver rising 0.7% to $69.09 an ounce and platinum gaining 0.6% to $1,869.22.

Meanwhile, US gold futures rose 0.3% to $4,709.20. In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin gained 0.8% to $78,829.03, while Ether rose 0.7% to $2,453.10.
