Gold Prices Surge Amid Typhoon Dolphin's Approach
On Wednesday, international gold and silver prices rose as futures settled for December delivery at $4,305.20 per ounce and September delivery at $62.288 per ounce, respectively.
The gains represented a 3.67% increase in gold futures and a 3.39% rise in silver futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Dolphin was approaching the East China Sea, prompting authorities to activate a Level III emergency response in Zhejiang province.
The typhoon was located about 1,360 kilometers east of Wenzhou City and packing maximum wind speeds of 42 meters per second near its center.
