Gold Prices Surge as Fed Dovish Shift and Trump-Iran Tensions Fuel Uncertainty
Gold prices in India have surged to ₹1.63 lakh per 10 grams for 24K gold, ₹2.60 lakh per kg for silver, and ₹12,232 per gram for 18K gold on August 22, according to the latest data.
The increase is attributed to a dovish shift in Federal Reserve policy and rising tensions between Trump and Iran, which have fueled uncertainty and driven investors towards safe-haven assets like gold.
Delhi's gold prices are slightly higher than the national indicative prices, with 24K gold at ₹16,324 per gram, 22K gold at ₹14,965 per gram, and 18K gold at ₹12,247 per gram on August 22.
The rally comes after a sharp move in the second half of August, with gold prices rising from ₹15,360 per gram on August 13 to ₹16,309 per gram on August 22, representing an increase of ₹949 or about 6.18% in just ten days.
