New Delhi's gold prices rose on Tuesday due to increased spot demand and fresh positions built by speculators. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October delivery contracts of gold futures traded higher at Rs 1,54,600 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,332 lots.

Analysts say that this rise is due to participants creating new positions on firm spot demand. Globally, gold futures increased 0.35% to USD 4,406.15 per ounce in New York.
