Gold Prices Surge Globally Amid Weakening Dollar
The gold market began the week on an upward trend, with both domestic and international prices showing significant increases. In Vietnam, SJC gold prices edged up slightly by 200,000 VND/ounce, while other brands such as DOJI, Phu Quy, and PNJ saw more modest gains of around 200,000 VND/ounce.
The global market was more volatile, with gold prices surging by $41 per ounce to reach approximately $4,419 per ounce. This represents a rise of around 0.94% compared to the previous day's price.
The upward trend in gold prices is attributed to a weakening US dollar and reduced expectations about the Federal Reserve raising interest rates in the short term. This has made gold, a non-yielding asset, more attractive to defensive investors.
