Gold Prices Surge in Bangladesh with 22-Carat Rate Hike
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,158 per bhori on Saturday, setting a new rate at Tk236,779 per bhori.
According to BAJUS, this adjustment came after a decline in the price of refined gold in the local market, prompting the association to revise its rates, including VAT.
The revised rates for different types of gold are as follows: 22-carat gold is now Tk236,779 per bhori, 21-carat gold costs Tk226,165 per bhori, and traditional gold stands at Tk158,630 per bhori.
BAJUS stated that the new prices came into effect at 10am on Saturday and will remain in effect until further notice. However, making charges will continue to vary depending on the design of the jewellery.
