Gold Prices Surge in India Amid Global Market Optimism
Gold prices in India continued to remain elevated on August 25, driven by supportive global market conditions and a weaker US dollar. According to bullions.co.in, the current retail gold rates show 24K gold at Rs 16,412 per gram in Delhi, while 22K gold is priced at Rs 15,045 per gram.
In major cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, 24K gold is quoted at Rs 16,397 per gram, while 22K gold stands at Rs 15,030 per gram. The silver rate has also reached historically high domestic levels, with Delhi's price listed at Rs 2,59,900 per kg.
The global market is also contributing to the surge in gold prices. Spot gold climbed to a three-month high on August 24, touching $4,680.70 per ounce before settling at $4,639.49, according to Reuters. The report attributed this rally to technical momentum and lower bond yields.
Buyers should be aware that gold rates can vary between cities due to local demand, transportation costs, taxes, and jewellers' pricing practices. It's essential to check both 24K and 22K gold rates along with the latest silver price before making a purchase.
