Gold Prices Surge in India Amid Strong Weekly Gains
Gold prices in India rose across all major purity categories on Saturday, August 8. According to Goodreturns data, the benchmark 24K gold rate increased to ₹15,235 per gram, while 22K gold stood at ₹13,965 per gram and 18K gold at ₹11,426 per gram.
The latest move comes after gold prices had already recorded strong gains during the week. From August 4 to August 8, 24K gold increased from ₹14,400 to ₹15,235 per gram, a rise of ₹835 per gram. The 22K rate rose by ₹765 per gram during the same period.
Investors will continue to watch international gold prices, the US dollar, US interest-rate expectations, Treasury yields, and geopolitical developments when MCX reopens. These factors can influence the direction of domestic gold futures as well as retail prices.
