Gold Prices Surge in Iraq's Baghdad and Erbil
Gold prices in Baghdad and Erbil have seen an increase, according to a market survey by Shafaq News. As of Monday, the price of gold hovered around 970,000 IQD per mithqal (five grams) in both cities.
The selling price for 21-carat gold on Al-Nahr Street in Baghdad was recorded at 960,000 IQD, while the buying price reached 956,000 IQD. This is a slight increase from Sunday's prices of 950,000 IQD and 945,000 IQD respectively.
The same gold sold for 930,000 IQD on Al-Nahr Street in Baghdad as Iraqi gold, with a buying price of 926,000 IQD. In jewelry stores, the selling price per mithqal of 21-carat Gulf gold ranged between 960,000 and 970,000 IQD.
In Erbil, the prices were slightly higher, with 22-carat gold sold at 994,000 IQD per mithqal. The prices for 21-carat and 18-carat gold in Erbil stood at 951,000 IQD and 814,000 IQD respectively.
