Gold Prices Surge to Record Highs Amid Wedding Season Demand
The price of gold has crossed Rs 1 lakh 54 thousand per 10 grams in India, while silver has reached Rs 2 lakh 54 thousand per kg. The wedding season is approaching, which has led to an increase in demand and prices. According to the current rates, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 15,487 per gram, making it Rs 154,870 for 10 grams.
The price of 22-carat gold, commonly used in jewelry, has increased by around Rs 400 per 10 grams compared to last week. The international rate, dollar, and local demand determine the daily price of gold. In Delhi, the capital city, gold is being sold at a slightly higher price due to making charges and other expenses.
In Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, the prices of 24-carat gold are Rs 15,487 per gram, Rs 14,196 per gram for 22-carat gold. The demand for gold is high in South India, leading to fluctuations in prices. For silver, the price of 999 purity has reached Rs 2,54,900 per kg, while 925 sterling silver is priced at around Rs 2,54,000 per kg.
