Gold Prices Take a Hit Amid Global Market Volatility
Vietnam's gold prices took a dip on Friday morning due to a decline in global bullion rates.
The Saigon Jewelry Company's gold bar price fell by 0.2% to VND149.7 million (US$5,735.85) per tael, but remains up 1.42% for the week.
Gold ring prices also dropped by 0.2% to VND149.2 million per tael, with a tael equivalent to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
Globally, gold prices slipped on Friday as market participants awaited the Jackson Hole symposium's closely watched remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
Spot gold fell by 0.5% to $4,576.30 per ounce after reaching a more than three-month high earlier in the week.
