Gold Prices Tumble Amid Middle East Uncertainty
Gold prices declined on Tuesday due to uncertainty surrounding the conflict in the Middle East and ongoing concerns about inflation. The market remains cautious ahead of a series of US employment reports that could provide insight into the Federal Reserve's policy path.
The spot price of gold fell by 0.3% to $4,029.84 an ounce, while US gold futures for August delivery dropped 0.5% to $4,029.00 an ounce.
Other precious metals also experienced losses, with spot silver declining by 0.8% to $57.18 an ounce and platinum falling by 1.6% to $1,616.42 an ounce.
