Gold Prices Tumble Amid Stronger Dollar and Rising Yields Ahead of Inflation Data
Gold prices fell on Thursday as investors awaited key U.S. inflation data for clues on the Federal Reserve's interest-rate path.
The spot gold price slipped 0.4% to $4,385.40 per ounce by 1125 GMT while U.S. gold futures fell 0.7% to $4,427.80.
Fawad Razaqzada, a market analyst at Forex.com, attributed the drop in metals prices partly to the strengthening of the U.S. dollar ahead of inflation data and higher bond yields in the U.S. and elsewhere.
