Gold Prices Unchanged Amid Geopolitical Tensions
Gold prices held steady on Tuesday as investors weighed geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East against expectations that US interest rates could remain elevated for longer.
The spot gold price edged up 0.2% to $4,059.81 per ounce, while US gold futures rose 0.6% to $4,055.10.
President Donald Trump's comments on negotiations with Iran added to the uncertainty, but the Iranian Foreign Ministry denied any direct talks with Washington were taking place.
The Federal Reserve's upcoming interest rate decision and the US jobs report are set to be major drivers of gold prices in the coming days.
