The gold rate in Delhi has been experiencing fluctuations throughout 2026. In March, it opened at ₹1,68,990 per 10 grams but fell to ₹1,48,420 by month's end. The trend reversed in April, with prices rising to ₹1,50,580 by the 30th. May saw further gains, reaching a high of ₹1,62,270 on May 15th.

In June, gold rates declined significantly, dropping from ₹1,59,590 to ₹1,41,470 over the course of the month. However, July witnessed a rebound, with prices rising to ₹1,49,460 by its end. The upward trend continued in August, with the rate settling at ₹1,45,910 per 10 grams on August 6th.

Gold purity is measured in karats, with 24K being the purest form but too soft for jewellery. For traditional Indian jewellery, 22K is the standard alloyed with other metals for durability. The daily gold rate online serves as a benchmark, and final prices include making charges and GST.

Investors can consider financial gold alternatives such as digital gold, gold ETFs, mutual funds, and sovereign gold bonds, which offer flexibility and returns on top of standard gold price appreciation.
