Gold Rebound Gains Momentum Amid Central Bank Buying

Gold prices have been recovering from their recent slump, driven by improved market conditions and continued central bank purchases. The Korea Gold Exchange in Seoul has seen a rebound in gold prices, which had languished under a strong dollar and rising interest rates.

The decline in gold prices was largely due to the strengthening US dollar and higher market rates, but recent developments have eased fears of monetary tightening. Progress in talks between the United States and Iran, as well as weak US employment data, have contributed to the rebound.

Central banks around the world continue to buy gold, with net purchases reaching a record high of 288 tons in the second quarter. Poland, China, and Kazakhstan led the buying, with the People's Bank of China increasing its purchases since April.

Analysts recommend holding some gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as part of a core-satellite strategy due to their diversification benefits. However, there is still uncertainty surrounding the war between the United States and Iran, which could trigger a short-term correction if rates spike.
