Gold Rebounds as Silver Slips Amid Pre-US Inflation Caution
Gold prices in India have recovered to Rs 1,54,177 per 10 grams after opening weakly at Rs 1,53,581. This comes as investors remain cautious ahead of US inflation data and the Federal Reserve's September policy decision.
The recovery is attributed to a softer dollar, which has supported demand for gold. COMEX gold rose 0.27 percent to USD 4,472.60 an ounce.
Silver prices, on the other hand, have slipped near Rs 2,43,000 per kg despite touching an intraday high of Rs 2,44,265 earlier in the day.
The precious metals are trading with caution as investors await US producer inflation data and consumer inflation figures for signals on the Fed's interest-rate path. Many experts expect the central bank to leave rates unchanged at its September 15-16 meeting.
