Gold Rises as Dollar Weakens and Rate Hike Odds Diminish
Gold prices rose on Monday due to a weakening U.S. dollar and decreased expectations of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve in September.
The spot price of gold climbed 0.3% to $4,388.62 per ounce at 00:28 GMT, while December delivery futures increased by 0.2% to $4,444.30 per ounce.
The decline in U.S. nonfarm payrolls in July and modest consumer price inflation data have reduced the likelihood of a rate hike next month, according to CME's FedWatch Tool, which now estimates a 33% probability down from 47% a month earlier.
