Gold Rises as US Dollar Declines Ahead of Inflation Data
The price of gold ticked up on September 8 as the US dollar slipped. Investors are focused on upcoming inflation data, which could shape expectations for the US Federal Reserve's next policy move.
Spot gold was up 0.1 per cent at $4,407.27 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery fell 0.6 per cent at $4,452.10.
The US dollar index ticked 0.3 per cent lower, making greenback-priced metals more affordable for other currency holders.
