Gold Rises to Two-Month High as Dollar Weakens
Gold prices rose on Monday, extending a two-week advance to $4,399.44 an ounce, or 0.5%, as spot XAU/USD gained.
The dollar's decline, down 0.2% to 99.49, contributed to the gold price increase, making dollar-denominated bullion cheaper for buyers using other currencies.
Other precious metals also rose, with silver leading at 1.7%, followed by platinum and palladium at 1.8% and 1.6%, respectively. Copper added 1.03% to $6.6813.
The move is attributed to the dollar's weakness and the impact of Friday's US consumer data on the gold market, as well as global shares and European equities rising.
