Gold Royalty Posts Record H1 Growth, Misses Q2 Revenue Expectations
Gold Royalty Corp reported mixed second-quarter results, meeting analysts' earnings estimate but missing revenue expectations. The company posted adjusted EPS of $0.01, in line with forecasts, but revenue came in at $6.73 million, falling short of the $9.41 million consensus estimate by 28.48%. Despite this shortfall, Gold Royalty's first-half revenue and related proceeds more than doubled from a year earlier, reaching a record $17.3 million.
Chair and Chief Executive David Garofalo attributed the gold price decline in the quarter to broader market trends, noting that the commodity was still up strongly year-over-year by nearly 18%. He emphasized the company's cost structure as a key advantage, stating that unlike gold miners, Gold Royalty has no inflationary pressures weighing on its operating margins.
Gold Royalty's stock fell 2.08% to $2.83 following the announcement, leaving it near the lower end of its 52-week range. Despite this decline, management remains optimistic about the company's long-term growth prospects, with production expected to rise to 28,000 to 34,000 GEOs by 2030.
