Gold, Silver Prices Plummet Amid Escalating Tensions and Strong Dollar
Gold and silver prices took a hit on September 14, as investors remained cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy decision. Comex gold futures fell by 0.94% to $4,389.30 per ounce, weighed down by escalating Middle East tensions, rising oil prices, and a stronger dollar.
Additionally, a 3.4% rise in US CPI in August put pressure on bullion ahead of the Fed's meeting this month. Silver also declined by 0.94% to $64.57 per ounce.
The domestic MCX gold futures for the October contract closed at Rs 1,52,655 per 10 grams, a 0.08% drop from its previous close. Silver edged down by 0.04% to Rs 2,34,886 per kilogram.
