Gold, Silver Prices Plummet Amid Fed Rate Hike Fears
The gold and silver prices have taken a hit this week, dropping below $4,000 per ounce and $60 per ounce respectively. The decrease in value is largely due to concerns about higher interest rates from the US Federal Reserve, reignited by conflict in the Middle East.
At the Rule Symposium, experts discussed their views on the outlook for gold and silver. Dana Samuelson of American Gold Exchange noted that if the price breaks $3,950, it could trade in the range between $3,400 to $3,500. He emphasized that there's a 'liability' for gold at its current price.
Tavi Costa of Azuria Capital discussed the volatility of silver and suggested that the metal may not respect support levels such as $50. He advocated for a process-oriented approach to investing in silver, holding cash and deploying it gradually until a bottom is reached.
Rich Checkan of Asset Strategies International emphasized the importance of dollar-cost averaging when buying gold or silver, rather than waiting for the perfect time. He noted that gold dropped by $1,500 from its all-time highs and suggested taking advantage of this opportunity to buy well.
