Gold, Silver Prices Plummet on July 24 Amid Market Volatility
Gold and silver prices have dropped on July 24, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). One kilogram of silver has fallen by ₹2,924 to ₹2.19 lakh, while 10 grams of 24-carat gold has dropped by ₹1,848 to ₹1.42 lakh.
This decline comes after the prices had reached an all-time high earlier this year. On December 31, 2025, gold was at ₹1.33 lakh, which rose to reach ₹1.76 lakh on January 29. Since then, gold has become cheaper by ₹34,000.
Similarly, silver prices were at ₹2.30 lakh/kg on December 31, 2025, which reached an all-time high of ₹3.86 lakh/kg on January 29. Now, silver is cheaper by ₹1.67 lakh/kg compared to its peak price.
Ajay Kedia, a commodity expert, believes that gold and silver prices have come down significantly from their highs. He suggests that investors can invest in them now but should avoid making lump sum investments. According to Ajay Kedia, by the end of the year, gold could once again reach ₹1.60 lakh/10 gm and silver could reach ₹2.80 lakh/kg.
