Gold, Silver Prices Rise as US Dollar Weakens

Gold and silver futures rose on Tuesday as prices closed higher on international markets.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery increased by 1.52% to settle at $4,152.60 per ounce, while silver futures for September delivery gained 4.13% to close at $60.245 per ounce.

The rise in precious metals prices came as the U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Tuesday, with the dollar index falling 0.04% to 99.858 against six major peers.
