Gold, Silver Prices See Slight Uptick Amid Global Demand
The price of gold in India saw a slight increase on August 26, influenced by global demand and persistent inflationary pressures. The rate of 24K gold, which is considered to have 999-purity, stood at Rs 16,374 per gram, while 22K gold was priced at Rs 15,009 per gram.
The precious metals market in India continues to be shaped by international bullion prices, US dollar exchange rate fluctuations, and domestic jewellery demand. As the festive season approaches, changing consumer behavior may further amplify fluctuations in prices.
Silver prices also remained elevated on August 26, trading at approximately Rs 2,59,900 per kilogram in India. Unlike gold, silver prices are heavily influenced by industrial consumption, with demand from sectors that use silver as an industrial material having a significant impact on global prices.
