Gold, Silver Prices Soar Amid Dollar Weakness and Rate Hike Uncertainty

Gold and silver prices have surged in recent weeks due to various factors. Gold has broken out of its sideways trend, rising by over 7% last week and continuing to climb this week. It is now up nearly 9% for August alone, trading near $4,400 an ounce.

Silver has outpaced gold's gain, climbing around 13% in August and reaching a price of approximately $65 an ounce internationally.

The US dollar's weakness has made gold more attractive to buyers using other currencies. Expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate hike have eased after weaker-than-expected US jobs data, which tends to help gold prices.

Strong buying from big institutional players, including global gold ETFs and China's central bank, has also contributed to the increase in gold and silver prices.
