Gold, Silver Prices to React to US Inflation Figures and Crude Oil Movements
Gold and silver prices are expected to be influenced by several key factors in the coming week. US inflation figures, crude oil price movements, and geopolitical tensions in West Asia will play a significant role in determining bullion prices.
The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation report for August 2026 is scheduled to be released on September 11, and analysts believe it could be a major trigger for gold and silver markets. As interest rate speculation continues, investors are keeping a close eye on consumer price data from Germany and China, GDP figures from the Eurozone, Japan, and the UK, as well as China's trade data.
According to Pranav Mer, Senior Vice President at EBG - Commodity & Currency Research, JM Financial Services Ltd, US inflation numbers will be a key trigger for bullion markets. He noted that gold prices are looking for resistance at Rs 1.57 lakh per 10 grams, while silver's support is still above Rs 2.31 lakh per kg.
Last week, gold futures for October delivery fell Rs 3,514, or 2.2%, to Rs 1.52 lakh per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange, while silver declined Rs 4,786, or nearly 2%, to Rs 2.37 lakh per kg.
