Gold Slips as Dollar Remains Subdued Amid US Inflation Anticipation
Gold and silver prices declined on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) ahead of US inflation data. Spot gold was up 0.3% at $4,412.84 per ounce, but US gold futures for December delivery slipped 0.1% to $4,457.10.
Silver gained 0.2% to $67.42 an ounce, while platinum declined 0.6% to $1,885.02 and palladium rose 0.2% to $1,355.50.
Manoj Kumar Jain of Prithvifinmart expects gold and silver prices to remain volatile this week due to fluctuations in crude oil prices and the dollar index, as well as ahead of the US inflation data.
Gold futures for October 2026 delivery declined by Rs 182 to Rs 1,53,581 per 10 grams, while MCX silver futures for September 2026 delivery were down Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,42,276 per kg.
