Gold Soars ₹21,000 in India, Silver Hits New High
Gold and silver prices have continued to fluctuate in India throughout 2026. According to data from Goodreturns, on December 31, 2025, gold was priced at ₹1.33 lakh per 10 grams, which has risen to ₹1.54 lakh as of September 10, 2026. This represents a price increase of ₹21,000 since the start of the year.
Silver prices have also surged, increasing by ₹3,307 to reach ₹2.39 lakh per kilogram on September 10, 2026. On December 31, 2025, silver was priced at ₹2.30 lakh per kg, which is now a record high of ₹2.39 lakh.
Anindya Banerjee, Senior Vice President and Head of Commodity Research at Kotak Securities, predicts that gold could reach ₹1.70 lakh by December 2026, while silver may rise to ₹3 lakh. However, it's essential for investors to be aware of the making charge factor when purchasing gold jewelry.
