Gold prices have increased by ₹177 to reach ₹1.42 lakh for every 10 grams of 24-carat gold in India, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). This marks a significant rise from December 31, 2025, when the price was ₹1.33 lakh per 10 grams.
The price of silver has dropped by ₹789 to stand at ₹2.17 lakh per kilogram. In comparison, gold prices have risen by ₹9,000 this year alone. The current price is still lower than its all-time high in January when it reached ₹1.76 lakh per 10 grams.
Commodity expert Ajay Kedia predicts that gold could reach up to ₹1.60 lakh and silver ₹2.80 lakh by the end of this year, although he advises against lump-sum investments.
