Gold Soars to New High in India Amid Strong Global Trends
Gold prices surged to a new high of Rs 1.48 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday, driven by fresh buying from jewellers and retailers amid strong global trends.
The price hike was largely attributed to improved demand for gold, which edged higher due to a stronger rupee capping further gains, according to traders.
Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst - Commodities at HDFC Securities, said that 'gold advanced on Thursday amid a pullback in the US dollar following the Federal Reserve's latest policy announcement, increasing demand for the precious metal.'
However, silver prices dropped by Rs 600 to Rs 2,24,700 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes) from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,25,300 per kg, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
