Gold Stabilizes Ahead of Jackson Hole Speech
Gold prices remained steady in early Asian trading on Friday ahead of US Federal Reserve chair Kevin Warsh's highly anticipated speech at the Jackson Hole symposium.
The spot price of gold was down 0.2% to $4,589.85 per ounce as of 0041 GMT, while US gold futures fell 0.5% to $4,642.60.
Market participants are closely watching the Fed's inflation concerns and the potential for a rate hike in September, which could have a significant impact on gold prices.
The Kansas City Fed's annual economic symposium has already seen several Fed officials express their ongoing concerns about the US inflation landscape, with the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index standing at 3.7% in the 12 months through July.
