Gold Stabilizes as Fed's Hawkish Stance Fades
Gold prices have stabilized after a recent surge, and analysts are now focusing on the factors driving its current trend. Spot gold hovered around $4,435 an ounce on Friday, slightly higher than the previous day's close of $4,407.10.
The Fed's hawkish stance has shifted, with only 30.6 percent of traders now pricing in a rate hike at the September meeting, down from 50 percent just a month ago. This change follows the release of inflation data that showed US consumer prices rising by just 0.1 percent month-over-month in July.
The decreased likelihood of a rate hike has made gold more attractive to investors, as it reduces the opportunity cost of holding a non-yielding asset. However, analysts caution that this does not necessarily mean imminent cuts are on the horizon.
