Gold Stocks Surge as Central Banks Favor Bullion

Gold is gaining traction as a safe-haven asset, and investors are taking notice. Central banks are reassessing their reserves, and bonds are losing favor as a safety valve. This shift is filtering down to listed companies, where some firms are closely tied to bullion custody and gold-backed ETFs.

Three stocks stand out in this space: China Gold International Resources (TSX:CGG), Galiano Gold (TSX:GAU), and Osisko Gold Group (TSXV:OGG). These companies offer exposure to physical metal output, bullion supply, or indirect benefits from stronger gold demand.

China Gold International Resources is a Vancouver-based miner that produces gold and copper from its CSH mine in Inner Mongolia and the Jiama copper-gold polymetallic mine in Tibet. Its role in the Global Gold Backed ETF and Bullion Custody Providers theme comes from supplying the metal that underpins bullion holdings.

Galiano Gold is a Vancouver-based mining company with a 90% stake in the Asanko Gold Mine complex in Ghana, providing targeted exposure to gold production at a time when central banks are reassessing their reserves. Osisko Gold Group is a Montreal-headquartered precious metals company that acquires and develops gold-focused projects, giving investors geared exposure to underground gold resources.
